Competition and Selection Process
The process to select a winner has two phases:
Phase 1 in the selection process is a short design competition. This competition will be judged by a selection committee as primary criterion for narrowing entrants to (up to) five finalists. This short design competition is intended to assess the entrant’s abilities and skill in understanding, analyzing, and designing landscapes.
Phase 2 asks only invited finalists to prepare a travel proposal and interview with the selection committee to determine a winner. Roger Martin traveled extensively for research and this phase is intended to assess the quality and value of the entrant’s proposed travel plan(s).
Each phase will be weighed in the final selection decision. The winner will be announced at the ASLA-MN Awards Event in April.
